AMIU | Reuse Fashion Week 2025: a celebration of sustainable style

From 5 to 10 May 2025, the Reuse and Repair Center in Genoa hosted the Reuse Fashion Week, a week entirely dedicated to sustainability, creative reuse, and the promotion of a circular economy. Sponsored by AMIU and others local institutions, the event featured hands-on workshops, fashion shows, and activities open to schools, families, and the public, aiming to raise awareness about resource conservation and waste reduction. 

Throughout the week, participants took part in a variety of initiatives, such as creative recycling and upcycling labs, the fashion show with accessories made from recovered materials, and repair workshops focused on extending the life of clothing. Highlights included a large clothing Swap Party, family-friendly creative sessions, ethical styling meetups, and the innovative workshop that explored turning textiles into plant-growing substrates.
