CITEO | Innovation and reuse take center stage in EncoRE plus de réemploi 2024

The "EncoRE plus de réemploi" call for projects by CITEO supports industry players in transitioning toward more sustainable production and consumption by promoting packaging reuse. This year, EUR 50 million has been allocated to foster innovative solutions contributing to the goal of 10% reusable packaging by 2027. A total of 228 selected projects reflect shared ambitions: driving innovation in reuse and reducing the environmental impact of packaging. 

Now in its second year, the program broadens its scope by funding a more diverse range of initiatives. Five major trends are shaping this expansion: adapting reuse systems for products like milk and perfume; exploring reusable plastic packaging; advancing bulk product distribution through smart technologies; involving professional federations in reuse strategy development; and increasing consumer awareness through targeted communication efforts.
